Jeff Daniels Concert

On Thursday, October 28, 2010, at 7:30pm, I attended “An Evening with Jeff Daniels,” at The McGlohon Theater in Charlotte, NC.  The McGlohon Theater is a quaint small theater, which is an intimate setting. Daniels actually prefers performing at clubs and smaller intimate venues, instead of the bigger music halls. He values the intimacy between himself and the audience.

Jeff Daniels is an actor, singer, and songwriter. He calls himself “Another white boy with the blues”. Daniels is a fantastic storyteller and performer.
His songs are anecdotes of life events, from his movie career to the fear of riding in the car with a teenager driver with a learner’s permit. Daniels poked fun at himself and of his less critically acclaimed movies. "Have we got any 'Dumb and Dumber' fans out there?" Daniels asked at one point, with many in the crowd hooting and applauding in response. "Well, I know what that says about me, and I apologize for what it says about you."
He performed humorous songs such as “Have a Good Life” and “The Dirty Harry Blues”. To a more serious and tender song such as “Grandfather’s Hat” single from his latest album titled Grandfather’s Hat.
Daniels gave a great performance which earned a standing ovation.
